News & Views | Episode 165: PayQuicker Expansion, New Binance Campaign and Financial Management

On this week’s episode of News & Views, The Fintech Times Podcast team speak about PayQuicker partnering with cross-border payment infrastructure provider Thunes, Binance joining forces with the Macau Judiciary Police & why 33 per cent of Chetwood Financial’s respondents believe their own financial management will put them in a better position this time next year.

The Fintech Times podcast team were reunited once more as Polly returned this week. The conversation kicked off with Tom discussing how Binance is cooperating with the Macau Judiciary Police to protect users from fraud. The trio conclude that while the initial steps introduced by Binance and the police are a step in the right direction, more needs to be done as a pop-up advising people to double-check details will likely be ignored after a while.

Following the discussion on crypto wallets, the podcast team turn their attention to e-wallets. Polly posed the question to Tom and Francis: “are we going to see more traction with digital wallets in the next year?” Both agreed that while the uptake in emerging markets is expected to continue, adoption in more developed countries might be a bit slower as people are already set in their ways for digital payments.

Lastly, the trio explore how UK customers’ attitudes to financial management are changing. When discussing why UK consumers were so optimistic, the podcast team were not sold on pay rises being a good reason for optimism, however, credited social media for helping changing attitudes towards saving.
